Rafael Ortega on Cubs' bench Friday afternoon

Chicago Cubs outfielder Rafael Ortega is not in the starting lineup for Friday's matinee against left-hander Steven Brault and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

What It Means:

Ortega was the Cubs' leadoff man on Thursday and he went 2-for-5 with a three-run home in a series-opening victory over the Pirates. Ortega is taking a breather Friday afternoon as Michael Hermosillo takes over at the top of the order and in center field.

numberFire’s models project Hermosillo for 8.3 FanDuel points and he has a $5,000 salary on the one-game afternoon slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Cubs have an implied total of 4.5 runs. Brault is registering a 14.9 strikeout percentage and a 6.4 walk percentage this season, with a 5.61 xERA and a .356 xwOBA.
