Niko Goodrum (groin) back in action Wednesday for Tigers

Detroit Tigers infielder Niko Goodrum has been activated from the 10-day injured list for a groin injury and is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against right-hander James Kaprielian and the Oakland Athletics.

What It Means:

Goodrum missed most of August due to a left groin strain. He is returning to the lineup Wednesday to play shortstop in place of Zack Short and hit eighth. Goodrum's return leaves less playing time to split between Willi Castro, Harold Castro, and Zack Short.

numberFire’s models project Goodrum for 7.5 FanDuel points and he has a $2,500 salary on Wednesday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Tigers have an implied total of 4.2 runs. Kaprielian is registering a 24.5 strikeout percentage and an 8.8 walk percentage this season, with a 4.32 xERA and a .317 xwOBA.
