Harold Castro taking seat Tuesday for Tigers

Detroit Tigers infielder Harold Castro is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's series opener against left-hander Cole Irvin and the Oakland Athletics.

What It Means:

Castro is taking a seat with a left-hander on the opposite hill, per usual. Jonathan Schoop is moving to second base in place of Castro and Zack Short is making another start at shortstop. Miguel Cabrera is playing first base while Eric Haase handles the designated hitter role. Dustin Garneau is entering the lineup to catch Tarik Skubal and hit eighth.

numberFire’s models project Schoop for 10.6 FanDuel points and he has a $3,200 salary on Tuesday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Tigers have an implied total of 4.5 runs. Irvin is registering a 15.9 strikeout percentage (bottom 5% of the league) and a 5.1 walk percentage this season (top 9%), with a 4.69 xERA and a .329 xwOBA.
