Zach Lee candidate for final spot in Dodgers' rotation

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Zach Lee is a candidate for the fifth spot in the rotation, according to manager Dave Roberts.

What It Means:

Lee was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday afternoon, but he's back in the running for an Opening Day roster spot with Mike Bolsinger (oblique) now ticketed for the disabled list. Lee, a former first-round pick, will be battling with Carlos Frias for that final spot.

Lee made one start in 2015, which is also his only appearance in the majors, allowing 7 runs on 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He pitched well in Triple-A last season, however, posting a 2.70 ERA in 113 1/3 innings, although he didn't strike out many hitters, posting an 18.0 strikeout percentage.
