Miguel Cabrera resting for Tigers Thursday afternoon
Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against left-hander John Means and the Baltimore Orioles.
Cabrera hit his 499th career homer on Wednesday but he's grabbing a seat for Thursday afternoon's getaway game. Renato Nunez is starting at first base and hitting fifth while Jonathan Schoop serves as Detroit's designated hitter out of the two-hole. Jeimer Candelario is hitting third in place of Cabrera.
numberFire’s models project Nunez for 7.1 FanDuel points and he has a $2,000 salary on Thursday’s slate. Schoop ($3,400) is projected for 11.3 FanDuel points and Candelario ($2,900) is projected for 9.6 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Tigers have an implied total of 4.9 runs. Means is registering a 22.9 strikeout percentage with a 4.4 walk percentage (top 4% of the league) this season.
