Nationals' Riley Adams absent from lineup Thursday afternoon
Washington Nationals catcher Riley Adams is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Aaron Nola and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Adams went 0-for-4 on Wednesday in his first start for the Nationals since being acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays last week. Tres Barrera is catching for Joe Ross on Thursday afternoon and hitting eighth.
numberFire’s models project Barrera for 7.7 FanDuel points and he has a $2,400 salary on Thursday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Nationals have the fourth-lowest implied total on Thursday's slate. Nola is registering a 28.8 strikeout percentage with a 5.0 walk percentage (top nine percent of the league) this season.
