Yandy Diaz on Rays' bench Wednesday afternoon
Tampa Bay Rays infielder Yandy Diaz is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Logan Gilbert and the Seattle Mariners.
Diaz went 0-for-4 with 3 strikeouts on Tuesday while handling cleanup duties for Tampa Bay. Austin Meadows is taking over the cleanup role on Wednesday afternoon and Ji-Man Choi is returning to first base in place of Diaz. Choi is hitting second and Meadows is the Rays' designated hitter.
