Nationals' Adrian Sanchez hitting second Monday
Washington Nationals infielder Adrian Sanchez is hitting second in Monday's series opener against left-hander Ranger Suarez and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Sanchez hit eighth on Saturday in his season debut and then seventh on Sunday in his second appearance, going a combined 2-for-7 with a hit in each contest. Sanchez is up in the second spot Monday since the Nationals are facing a left-hander. Juan Soto is hitting third and Josh Bell is batting cleanup, followed by Yadiel Hernandez in the fifth spot. Luis Garcia is hitting seventh.
Sanchez is averaging 4.5 FanDuel points as a starter this season. Suarez is registering a 26.6 strikeout percentage with an 8.9 walk percentage this season, and he ranks in at least the top seventh percentile of the league in xERA (2.67), xwOBA (.253), and xSLG (.282).
