Anthony Rizzo resting Thursday afternoon for Cubs
Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Luis Castillo and the Cincinnati Reds.
Rizzo extended his hitting streak to six games on Wednesday but he is getting an apparent breather on Thursday afternoon. It's also worth mentioning that Rizzo's name has been mentioned as a possible trade candidate ahead of Friday's deadline. Patrick Wisdom is covering first base and hitting third on Thursday afternoon. Matt Duffy is on the hot corner while David Bote starts on second and hits sixth.
numberFire’s models project Wisdom for 13.4 FanDuel points and he has a $2,800 salary on Thursday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Cubs have an implied total of 3.6 runs. Castillo is registering a 22.5 strikeout percentage with a 10.1 walk percentage this season.
