New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Luis Patino and the Tampa Bay Rays.
Sanchez is taking a seat for the day game after starting the previous three contests. Kyle Higashioka is hitting eighth and catching for Gerrit Cole in his first start since returning from the COVID-19 list.
