Washington Nationals pitcher Bronson Arroyo has been diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff.
Arroyo is dealing with a "significant" tear, though he's opted not to have surgery. "It's either rehab or retire," said Arroyo. At age 39, there's a good chance he'll choose the latter.
Arroyo owns a career 4.37 xFIP. Over a full season, he has posted a sub-4.00 xFIP just once in his career (2013). Eating innings and limiting walks is just about all Arroyo offers.
