Detroit Tigers infielder Zack Short is not in the lineup Saturday in the team's game against the Kansas City Royals.
Short is being replaced at shortstop by Harold Castro against Royals starter Carlos Hernandez.
In 95 plate appearances this season, Short has a .182 batting average with a .708 OPS, 5 home runs, 14 runs and 13 RBI.
