Bronson Arroyo diagnosed with torn labrum in shoulder
Washington Nationals pitcher Bronson Arroyo has been diagnosed with an 80 percent tear of the labrum in his right shoulder.
This might be a career-ender for the 39-year-old right-hander. Arroyo signed a minor league contract with the Nationals in late January and was hoping to complete a successful comeback this year from his 2014 Tommy John surgery. He figures to undergo surgery to repair the labrum tear within the next couple of days.
He owns a career 4.37 xFIP. Over a full season, he has posted a sub-4.00 xFIP just once in his career (2013). Eating innings and limiting walks is just about all Arroyo offers.
