The Chicago Cubs did not list Robinson Chirinos as a starter for Monday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Chirinos will take a seat Monday while Willson Contreras takes over the reigns behind home plate and bats leadoff for the Cubs.
The veteran is projected for just 23 more plate appearances this season, with 2 runs, 2 RBI, and a .200 batting average. Chirinos has only made 12 plate appearances in his age-37 season, but he has managed to put up a .333 batting average and a 1.278 OPS in those plate appearances.
