Zack Short sitting for Tigers' opener with Rangers

Detroit Tigers infielder Zack Short is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against right-hander Kyle Gibson and the Texas Rangers.

What It Means:

Short is taking a seat after going 1-for-10 with a run and five strikeouts over the weekend versus the Minnesota Twins. Harold Castro is replacing Short at shortstop and hitting seventh.

numberFire’s models project Castro for 7.4 FanDuel points and he has a $2,000 salary on Monday. Gibson is registering a 21.7 strikeout percentage with a 7.6 walk percentage this season.
