Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Erik Gonzalez is not in the lineup Sunday in the team's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Gonzalez is being replaced at shortstop by Kevin Newman against Cardinals starter Johan Oviedo.
In 220 plate appearances this season, Gonzalez has a .232 batting average with a .562 OPS, 2 home runs, 17 runs and 21 RBI.
