Joey Votto joining Reds' bench for Tuesday matinee
Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's matinee against right-hander Bailey Ober and the Minnesota Twins.
The Reds are likely just giving Votto a breather after he played all 12 innings of Monday night's loss. Tyler Stephenson will cover first base and bat cleanup on Tuesday afternoon. Tucker Barnhart will catch Wade Miley and hit ninth.
numberFire’s models project Stephenson for 10.4 FanDuel points and he has a $2,500 salary on Tuesday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Reds have an implied total of 4.4 runs. Among Tuesday's listed starters, Ober is registering the best walk rate (2.9 percent) and a top-six strikeout rate (30.4 percent) this season.
