Orioles' Austin Hays absent from Monday's lineup
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against right-hander Jean Carlos Mejia and the Cleveland Indians.
Hays will sit after going 0-for-10 and striking out six times during the Orioles' weekend series with the Tampa Bay Rays. D.J. Stewart will start in left field and bat cleanup, with Cedric Mullins in center and at the top of the order. Anthony Santander will fill out the third outfield spot and hit third.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Orioles have an implied total of 4.1 runs. The Indians' starter has the fourth-best strikeout rate (29.4 percent) and also the fourth-worst walk rate (11.8 percent) this season among Monday's listed starters. Stewart has a $2,100 salary on Monday's slate and our models project him to score 10.3 FanDuel points.
