Royals place Andrew Benintendi (rib) on injured list
The Kansas City Royals placed outfielder Andrew Benintendi on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right rib fracture.
Benintendi hit a solo home run versus the Oakland Athletics on Sunday and finished out the game, but he apparently injured his rib while making a throw at some point during the weekend series. The Royals recalled Edward Olivares from Triple-A Omaha on Monday in a corresponding roster move. Olivares will start in left field and bat seventh in Monday's series opener against left-hander Matt Boyd and the Detroit Tigers.
numberFire’s models project Olivares for 7.8 FanDuel points and he has a $2,000 salary on Monday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Royals have an implied total of 5.1 runs, the fourth-highest total on Monday's slate.
