San Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer is not in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against right-hander Jacob deGrom and the New York Mets.
Jake Cronenworth will shift to first base in place of Hosmer and Ha-Seong Kim will start at second. Hosmer appears to be getting a routine breather.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, deGrom has the best strikeout rate (45.4 percent) and best walk rate (3.9 percent) among Friday's listed starters.
