New York Yankees infielder Gleyber Torres is sitting Wednesday in the team's game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Torres is being sidelined "out of an abundance of caution," as the Yankees are dealing with some COVID-19 positive tests. While Torres hasn't yet tested positive, he will be held out of the lineup for the time being. Tyler Wade is taking over at shortstop against Rays starter Collin McHugh.
In 141 plate appearances this season, Torres has a .234 batting average with a .625 OPS, 1 home run, 12 runs and 10 RBI.
