Boston Red Sox first baseman Bobby Dalbec is not in the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against right-hander Chris Bassitt and the Oakland Athletics.
Dalbec went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts in Monday's series finale against the Baltimore Orioles. He is 19-for-101 (.188) with 36 strikeouts this season. Michael Chavis will replace Dalbec on first base Tuesday and bat ninth.
