White Sox scratch Yermin Mercedes from Sunday lineup
The Chicago White Sox scratched Yermin Mercedes from their lineup for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Indians.
What It Means:
While no official reason has been given, it was reported that Mercedes was slightly late to report today. Andrew Vaughn will enter the lineup in left field and bat seventh, while Jake Lamb takes over at DH for Mercedes.
Mercedes has been having a fantastic season so far in 2021. He's hit 5 home runs in 92 plate appearances for a .395 batting average and a 1.063 OPS.
