C.J. Wilson (shoulder) may not be ready for Angels' Opening Day

Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher C.J. Wilson (shoulder) is "looking iffy" for the Angels' Opening Day start, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register writes.

What It Means:

Wilson returned to camp Friday after leaving to be with his wife and newborn daughter. He's slated to throw on flat ground Friday and is still over a week away from game action. Wilson entered camp slightly behind while rehabbing offseason elbow surgery, and then he went down with shoulder tendinitis. It's looking like it will be either Matt Shoemaker or Nick Tropeano filling his rotation spot early on in the season.

Wilson struggled to a 4.24 xFIP in 2015 and had a strikeout percentage of 19.9, which is just below league average, in 132 innings pitched. His performance earned him 1.4 Wins Above Replacement.
