Hanser Alberto was not listed in the Kansas City Royals' lineup for Sunday's game against the Detroit Tigers.
Alberto will take a seat Sunday while Nicky Lopez re-enters the lineup at shortstop and bats ninth.
Alberto has made 43 plate appearances this season and has a .244 batting average to go with his .701 OPS.
