Astros' Jose Altuve placed on injured list Wednesday
Houston Astros infielder Jose Altuve was placed on the injured list Wednesday afternoon.
What It Means:
According to general manager James Click, Altuve and four of his teammates - Yordan Alvarez, Alex Bregman, Martin Maldonado and Robel Garcia - were all placed on the injured list due to the league's health and safety protocols surrounding COVID-19. On Wednesday, Altuve will be replaced at second base by Aledmys Diaz against Detroit Tigers starter Michael Fulmer.
In 50 plate appearances this season, Altuve has a .318 batting average with an .835 OPS, 1 home run, 11 runs and 5 RBI.
