Boston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo is not in the starting lineup for Monday afternoon's series opener against left-hander J.A. Happ and the Minnesota Twins.
Verdugo will grab a seat while J.D. Martinez moves to right field. Kevin Plawecki will start behind the plate and bat ninth with Christian Vazquez playing designated hitter out of the two-hole.
