Renato Nunez batting cleanup for Tigers Sunday
The Detroit Tigers listed Renato Nunez as their cleanup batter for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Indians.
Nunez will fill the Tigers' designated hitter role in today's contest, stepping into the lineup to replace Miguel Cabrera (biceps), who was recently placed on the 10-day injured list. Nomar Mazara will move from designated hitter to right field, Robbie Grossman will switch to left field, and Akil Baddoo will take the game off.
Nunez is projected for 9.7 points in his 2021 season debut. He struggled in spring training, notching a .188 batting average with a .556 OPS in 32 plate appearances.
