Nationals' Jonathan Lucroy behind plate Friday
Washington Nationals catcher Jonathan Lucroy will start in Friday afternoon's series opener against right-hander Walker Buehler and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Nationals activated Yan Gomes from the 10-day injured list but Lucroy will get the start behind the plate on Friday. He will catch Joe Ross and bat eighth. The Nationals also activated Alex Avila and optioned Tres Barrera to their alternate training site.
