Ian Happ held out of Cubs' lineup Thursday
Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series opener against left-hander Tyler Anderson and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Happ will yield center field to Jake Marisnick and the leadoff role to Willson Contreras as he takes a seat. The 26-year-old outfielder is 2-for-16 (.125) to open the season. Marisnick will hit sixth while Kris Bryant will bat second with Javier Baez in the cleanup spot.
numberFire’s models project Marisnick for 11.2 FanDuel points versus the Pirates and he has a salary of $2,200 on Thursday. He is currently our top overall value among all hitters on the nine-game slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Cubs have an implied total of 4.5 runs.
