Andrelton Simmons absent from Twins' lineup Tuesday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Andrelton Simmons is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday afternoon's game against right-hander Casey Mize and the Detroit Tigers.
Simmons went 1-for-2 with a two-run single, 3 walks, and 2 runs scored on Monday in an easy win over the Tigers. He's hit safely in all four games to start the year but will take a breather Tuesday afternoon. Jorge Polanco will cover shortstop and Luis Arraez (illness) will start on second. Willians Astudillo will enter the lineup at third base and hit eighth for his first start of the season.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Twins have an implied total of 4.8 runs, currently seventh-highest out of the 28 teams playing Tuesday.
