Oakland's Matt Chapman (hip) will start at third base on Friday
Oakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman (hip) will make his spring debut in the field during Friday's game against the Los Angeles Angels.
Chapman will start at third base after handling designated hitting duties while working his way into form from hip surgery. After an injury-riddled 2020 season, Oakland's star third baseman appears on track for Opening Day's matchup against the Houston Astros.
Chapman's current yearly projection includes a .249 average with 34 home runs and 88 RBI in 600 total plate appearances.
