Matt Carpenter sitting for Cardinals Sunday

The St. Louis Cardinals did not list Matt Carpenter as a starter for Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

What It Means:

Carpenter will sit the regular season finale out while Harrison Bader moves into the lineup at center field and bats eighth. Dylan Carlson will move to left field, and Tommy Edman will fill in for Carpenter at third.

The longtime Cardinal struggled to a .186 batting average this season over 169 plate appearances, but did manage to add 4 home runs.
