Athletics acquire Khris Davis from Brewers
The Oakland Athletics acquired outfielder Khris Davis from the Brewers for catcher Jacob Nottingham and pitcher Bubba Derby.
The Brewers have been looking to deal Davis for awhile now and appear to have received a decent return. Nottingham gives them a legitimate catching prospect whose path could soon be cleared if the club is also successful in dealing Jonathan Lucroy. The 20-year-old backstop slashed .316/.372/.505 with 17 homers and 82 RBI in 119 games across two minor league levels in 2015, finishing at High-A Stockton.
Davis is a great source of right-handed power. In 440 plate appearances in 2015, he slugged 27 jacks and posted a .353 wOBA. Entering his age-28 season, Steamer Projections have him mashing 26 homers with a .336 wOBA.
