The Cleveland Indians signed relief pitcher Tommy Hunter to a one-year, $2 million contract.
Hunter's ERA was up last season at 4.18, but he had a sub-3.00 mark each of the previous two campaigns after a full-time move to the bullpen. The 29-year-old is recovering from core muscle surgery but should be ready to go by the time Opening Day rolls around.
After posting a 3.23 xFIP in 2014, Hunter's xFIP rose to 3.89 in 2015. He did fan 7.01 hitters per nine innings, which was the second-best clip of his career.
