Eric Thames in Nationals' cleanup spot for Friday's early game
Washington Nationals first baseman Eric Thames will start in the first game of Friday's doubleheader against right-hander Sixto Sanchez and the Miami Marlins.
Thames will replace Yadiel Hernandez in the designated hitter spot and bat cleanup. Juan Soto will move up a couple spots and hit second with Trea Turner in the leadoff spot. Asdrubal Cabrera will bat third.
