Jorge Alfaro (head) held out of Marlins' lineup Thursday
Miami Marlins catcher Jorge Alfaro (head) is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Nathan Eovaldi and the Boston Red Sox.
Alfaro was removed from Wednesday's game versus the Red Sox after taking a foul tip off his mask. The Marlins said Alfaro didn't suffer a concussion, so he should be able to return after a day or so. Chad Wallach will catch Jose Urena on Thursday afternoon and bat ninth.
Alfaro is averaging 9.0 FanDuel points per game this season. Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Marlins have an implied total of 4.55 runs on Thursday.
