Joe Panik sitting for Blue Jays Sunday
The Toronto Blue Jays did not list Joe Panik as a starter for Sunday's game against the New York Mets.
Panik will sit Sunday out while Santiago Espinal enters the lineup at shortstop and bats eighth. Bo Bichette will move to designated hitter, while Jonathan Villar moves to second base.
Panik has posted his best batting average since 2017 so far this season with a .261 average over 101 plate appearances, but the veteran has yet to hit a home run.
