Padres' Jorge Ona at designated hitter Thursday
San Diego Padres outfielder Jorge Ona will play designated hitter in Thursday's series opener against right-hander Trevor Cahill and the San Francisco Giants.
Ona will bat eighth in his second career start while replacing Abraham Almonte at DH. He hit .348/.417/.539 in 25 games with Double-A Amarillo last season before suffering a shoulder injury.
