Brewers designate Justin Smoak for assignment
Milwaukee Brewers infielder Justin Smoak has been designated for assignment by the team.
What It Means:
The Brewers claimed Dan Vogelbach off waivers after Toronto designated him, and it seems as though they've decided to roll with him over Smoak. It's likely Smoak will be claimed by a contender that needs a left-handed bat.
In 126 plate appearances this season, Smoak has a .186 batting average and a .642 OPS.
