Padres acquire Jason Castro from Angels
The San Diego Padres acquired catcher Jason Castro from the Los Angeles Angels for right-handed pitcher Gerardo Reyes.
The Padres also acquired Austin Nola at the deadline and traded away Austin Hedges. Castro will likely work as the Padres' primary catcher with Francisco Mejia (thumb) sidelined. Nola will likely operate in a utility role for San Diego.
Castro averaged 7.1 FanDuel points and went 10-for-52 (.192) with 23 strikeouts in 18 games for the Angels this season. numberFire's models expect Castro to hit .221 with 6 homers and 14 RBI over the rest of the year.
