Keone Kela placed on Pirates IL with tight forearm
The Pittsburgh Pirates placed reliever Keone Kela on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to August 24, with right forearm tightness.
What It Means:
The Pirates recalled right-hander Nick Mears from their alternate training site in a corresponding roster move. Richard Rodriguez will likely be the Pirates' primary closer while Kela is sidelined.
