Tyler Clippard agrees to a two-year deal with Arizona

The Arizona Diamondbacks and reliever Tyler Clippard have agreed to a two-year, $12.25 million contract, per FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

What It Means:

The 30-year-old right-hander experienced some struggles down the stretch in 2015, but he still finished with a decent 2.92 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 71 total innings between the Oakland Athletics and New York Mets.

However, his ugly 5.30 xFIP paints a different picture, and he fanned 8.11 hitters per nine innings, the worst clip of his career. His groundball rate was a measly 21.2 percent.
