Royals' Salvador Perez (eye) placed on 10-day injured list
Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez has been placed on the ten-day injured list with an eye injury.
Perez is dealing with "left eye serous chorioretinopathy", a condition that results in fluid accumulating under his retina. He has been battling vision issues recently and will attempt to recover on the injured list. Meibrys Viloria and Cam Gallagher will catch for Kansas City in his absence.
Perez is batting 0.307 this season with 4 homers, 12 RBI, 10 runs, and 27 hits in 92 plate appearances.
