Rockies put Chris Owings (hamstring) on IL

The Colorado Rockies placed infielder/outfielder Chris Owings on the 10-day injured list with a hamstring strain.

What It Means:

The injury forced Owings to make an early exit from Wednesday's game. The Rockies recalled infielder Josh Fuentes from their alternate training site in a corresponding roster move. Brendan Rodgers will replace Owings on on second base and bat seventh in Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Cristian Javier and the Houston Astros.

Owings has slashed .268/.318/.439 over 44 plate appearances this season.
