Padres' Luis Torrens in Tuesday's lineup
San Diego Padres catcher Luis Torrens is starting on Tuesday afternoon against left-hander Mike Minor and the Texas Rangers.
What It Means:
Torrens was recalled from the Padres' alternate training site to replace Francisco Mejia, who landed on the 10-day injured list Monday with a left thumb contusion. Torrens will replace Austin Hedges at catcher and bat ninth on Tuesday.
