Dwight Smith sitting for Orioles on Monday
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Dwight Smith is starting in Monday's series opener against left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu and the Toronto Blue Jays.
Smith will take a seat after going 0-for-4 with 2 strikeouts on Sunday versus the Washington Nationals. Pat Valaika will move to left field in place of Smith and hit fifth. Andrew Velazquez will enter the lineup at shortstop and bat eighth. Renato Nunez and Pedro Severino are in the No. 3 and 4 spots, respectively. Rio Ruiz will bat sixth after hitting third on Sunday.
