Javier Baez back for Cubs in first game Monday versus Cardinals
Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez is back in the starting lineup for the first game of Monday's doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Baez will return to shortstop and the No. 3 spot in the order after being held out of Sunday's lineup. Willson Contreras and David Bote are lined up behind Baez in the middle of the order. Nico Hoerner will move to second base in Game 1 on Monday while Jason Kipnis grabs pine. Josh Phegley will play designated hitter out of the seven-hole while Kris Bryant takes Kyle Schwarber's spot in left field. Albert Almora will also replace Ian Happ in center field and hit eighth.
Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Cubs are -178 favorites on Monday.
