Francisco Mejia sitting for Padres Monday
The San Diego Padres did not list Francisco Mejia as the starting catcher for Sunday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
What It Means:
Mejia and teammate Austin Hedges have been more or less splitting games so far this season, with Hedges drawing the start for this one and batting eighth.
Mejia is batting just .079 over his 41 plate appearances so far this season. The Padres have been struggling to get any production from their catchers at the plate in 2020.
