The Seattle Mariners did not list Mallex Smith as a starter for Sunday's game against the Houston Astros.
Smith has been an inconsistent starter so far this season after appearing in 175 games for the Mariners over the past two seasons. Today he'll take a seat while Tim Lopes starts in left field.
Smith led the league in stolen bases last season, but has only 2 stolen bases so far in 2020 over the course of his 47 plate appearances. He's struggling so far in 2020, and has a lowly 0.133 batting average.
